Brittney Griner has been through a whirlpool of struggle over the last few months. Barely a month ago, she was sentenced to nine years in prison after pleading guilty to charges involving possession of illegal substances. The athlete’s sentencing took place well over 150 days of her being detained by the Russian federal authorities.

During that initial period of his arrest, the WNBA Superstar had little to no communication with his local representatives from the United States. She also was barely given a chance to speak to her family and wife of three years, Cherelle Griner. BG was only later permitted to send emails and write letters to them.

Brittney Griner’s ex-spouse accuses the Olympian of being a terrible partner

Brittney Griner and Cherelle have happily been together since 2019. The baller shared their love story on her Instagram page narrating the day she fell for her wife. Cherelle has stood by her partner since day one of the fight pushing the Joe Biden Administration to procure an early release for Brittney.

Before this beautiful love story came into existence, the Phoenix Mercury player was formerly involved with another WNBA Star, Glory Johnson. Their tale did not have a happy ending. After being married for a year, the ex-couple filed for divorce after Griner was accused of domestic abuse.

Johnson opened up about their marriage and highlighted how they often spoke on having kids. That is where the differences begun as Griner wished to have a large family but Johnson was not on the same page. Johnson, who did not mind having all their children said, “If Brittney carries the children, all hell would break loose. She would be the worst pregnant lady ever.”

Even though their marriage was not spoken about much, Brittney Griner was still humble about his intentions towards her ex-wife. “Even if you’re not pregnant, I still love you.”  After giving birth via IVF in 2015, BG has paid Johnson $2665.81 in child support every month.
